My thoughts on LinkedIn as a platform for Creatives
LinkedIn has great potential for film makers and animators, and I’m seeing many of you make great use of it.
Those who do post their showreels and images get great comments and likes, spreading their work across their network and beyond.
I see people giving both asking for work and looking for freelance help, and people giving referrals.
Work is being won on LinkedIn.
Logging on is like walking into a vast, sometimes scary, often bewildering networking event.
Sometimes it’s utterly demoralising, when you see another person’s post getting loads of comments and likes.
It’s also inspiring – I read loads of interesting posts, new developments in animation techniques and links to events.
So like any social media platform, get to know it, don’t worry about how perfect some people’s careers seem, and focus on using it to grow yours.
