While the cv4tv blog is new, I’ve been running the CV Surgery workshops for thee years now. I set the first workshop up after reading CV after CV where I couldn’t work out someone skills, where I spent 10 minutes reading a CV and getting no sense of the person as an individual. I wanted to inspire applicants to write a CV that actually make me interested in meeting them!

So I set up my first surgery, back in Jan 2007. Big success, everyone at the session got a really good buzz out of it. So I’ve carried them on infrequently over the years, refining the presentation and incorporating new ideas.

‘CV Surgery’ isn’t a new phrase, however, since it is used by many other services. I read other sites about how to write the perfect CV, yet they didn’t get it right for Film and TV CVs. So I hit on the domain name cv4tv – I like things that do what they say on the tin!
