I just received this CV via email. This person really tried to wow with details. Lots of detail. Details have been blurred out to maintain their confidentiality, but look how much is written here. And there are three pages of this. It’s the exact reason why you should have a one page CV.

How much copy can you squeeze on a CV?!

My first feeling is exhaustion; do I really have to read ALL of this?

Is every single detail entirely, completely relevant to this application? My guess is that finding such details would be like an archeologist digging for bones.

I skimmed the front page, the top of the second page, and then deleted the email.  This person is not going to impress with this CV unless the reader has a long coffee break and the wifi is down.

Want to make your one page CV better?

If you want to learn how to get it right, read the bit in my book about creating different versions of your CV and the bit all about branding and layout.
